Color My Missives

This is the wing referenced in the last post. As soon as he made his way here, I deleted him from my phone. Soon enough he’ll be put away forever in the archives.

One night in Billy these kicks were hanging. Sometimes you see a little memorial near where you see shoes like this. Sometimes you don’t. I’m guessing that sometimes crews just throw their shoes up there for fun.

The streets are always watching. Patiently. They’ll be here when we’re gone - teaching us things about time and community. This little Zeus is perched on Washington avenue in Brooklyn.

The graffiti on this wall read to me when I was walking home from an amazing party. It says, “God Bless Brooklyn.” It’s interesting to me how often Brooklyn is referenced in Brooklyn, or New York in New York — in general. I don’t remember people talking about DC half as much [...]
